Nightgowns

The nightgown or nightshirt is the oldest garment used as nightwear and originated in 16th century, Florence. Initially, the nightgown was simple in form and was worn by women and men alike. Over the ages many designs and variations of the nightgown emerged, even opulent nightdresses that could not be put on or taken off without help.

Whereas a nightie often does not cover more than the hips and emphasizes a sensual design, the classical nightgown underlines functionality, convenience and well-being during sleep. To this day, the nightgown is the most popular nightwear for women and our unique and handmade collection truly represents high-quality nightwear in its purest form.

Soft Khasto Nightgowns

The Khasto nightgown features plain elegance and a classic three-quarter design. Our nightgowns generously support the mobility needed during sleep and your comfort is not affected by any cuffs or seams. The nightgowns feature a collar, long sleeves and an extended bottom tape, so if needed, breastfeeding becomes a convenient undertaking.

The fabric we use is a fine, soft flowing voile fabric, that is made from 100% premium-quality cotton. We gently layer the voile in threefold, in order to achieve a warm, but also an ideal temperature-regulating effect. The breathable and ultra-soft layers of the Khasto nightie are very skin friendly and guarantee a high level of sleeping comfort. The print or colour on the middle layer, shimmers through the outer, uncoloured layers and provides for a smooth and charming finish.

100% Cotton and a Cashmere-Feel from India

The Khasto nightgown represents assets of traditional Indian and Nepali textile processing and is made in a workplace with highly specialised workers, that we consider our friends. The voile is unique in the world, as its delicate texture adds a feel of cashmere to the pure cotton fabric. Due to its qualities, the voile even enjoyed royal status in 19th century Nepal. During the industrialisation period, however, it saw itself confronted with a flood of synthetic garments that were lower in price and easier to mass produce.

Our goal is to integrate traditional assets into a modern context and present Khasto to those who appreciate unique and handmade goods.

Comfort and Well-Being for Everyone

Next to providing high quality garments, we also have a strong focus on ethical trading. The individual well-being is for the Khasto wearers and makers alike. We invest in proper working conditions and fair pay for the workers, who in return provide us with their exceptional craftsmanship.

Choose your preferred nightgown from our collection and experience the cozy benefits not only when you sleep, but also during the day and your private moments at home.
